The Best on App Store

The best video quality you can get out from your iphone/ipad. Simply to use. What can you ask more?...Well...a flat profile (for a better color correction in post), and an iwatch app. Thats why only 4 stars :)

Could be 5-Star with Enhancements

Ive used this app the entire winter to film girls basketball for recruiting highlight clips. This is a nice app but WOULD be AWESOME if added a couple simple things. Ive made these suggestions before but no delivery yet. Let me help you developers: 1). In video playback mode add a darn time counter! I cannot believe nor understand why you dont have one. It would make editing easier. If accidentally move the frame scroller too much you have no freaking clue where to put it back to without a counter. There are times when playback then starts over completely and its so frustrating! 2). When in record mode, add a feature that allows the user to "flag" a scene in real time during recording that we can easily find during playback. That will make editing awesome. I currently have to watch the entire recording over again to start picking out clips. Then STILL dont have a time point to reference later because of lack of a timer/counter. 3). Some FF and RW arrows in playback would be helpful to playback at different speeds as well.

Really good app

Best app to record cinematic videos. Much better that the native app

Love it.

Very nice quality and easy to use.

App is great but....

I downloaded this app some time ago, now along comes an update and when I tried to do the update my problems begin. Couldnt update so I deleted old one, now I can not open it at all. Ill redo my review when this gets corrected. All my other apps update with no problem. Deleted the app again, downloaded again (second time in last two days). Got charged for the app again!!! This means I paid twice for the same app!!! I am rating this one star to get someones attention to correct the billing. This is a great app but charge twice.

Pretty Good

I use it to photograph my adult coloring projects. Usually takes me two or three launches to get it to open correctly. It seems to lock up. Frustrating.

the best

more reliable than filmic pro and has the highest bitrate

Outstanding

MoviePro is amazing and it just keeps getting better. It allows me to control things that I had no idea could be controlled on an iPhone. Now with the shutter control you can even get a certain amount of bokeh (background blur). And 4K and even 3K looks amazing on my 6S plus. Deepak has really created something exceptional.

Amazing but looking for MORE!

I love this app! Competes highly with Filmic Pro! Shooting anamorphic with high bitrate, amazing stabilization, and the color profile is great! EXCEPT.. I can only do those things at 1080p. 4K anamorphic resolutions are not available, which should be an easy update. Also if the stabilization was available with 4K anamorphic presets this would be my go to filming app and I would shoot most of my stuff with my iPhone then! So please Deepak Sharma, bring us 4K anamorphic presets and cinematic stabilization for 4K! You would be ahead of Filmic Pro! I don’t care if my battery is depleted, I can always add extra power on my shooting rig! - Ethan

Much better than what comes with the iPhone

Like a lot of the apps that come with the iPhone/iPad, the stock camera/movie app is easy to use and shows the basic capabilities of the iDevice. But after some time goes by, I usually long for the features that would normally be present in an application. MoviePro was the movie app that brought those features to the process of making movies. What makes the app even more likeable is that those features are readily available and useable. On many iDevice apps, one must click on places that have no buttons so it turns into a guessing game; MoviePro makes it easy to access features because most all features are readily accessible from the main screen with dedicated buttons. The App just works and works well. My setup is a little more complicated because it uses stereo audio inputs through the digital port (30-pin or Lightning). I didnt have the special cable I needed for the Lightning connector, so I used an older iPhone 4s with the 30-pin. MoviePro automatically switched to using the digital port and stated it on the display for several seconds before it faded away withrequireing me to dismiss the message (a nice tough). Another sorely needed feature missing from the standard app was a way to monitor the audio levels to ensure it is set to an appropriate level. Line-Level inputs can overdrive audio ports and cause distortion. MoviePro enables one to display an audio "LED" light bar that is color-coded to show signal strength. It is unobtrusive and shows what is needed to make adjustments. The movie viewer is also more tightly-coupled with the movie recorder than the standard iDevice app. That enables a lot less button pushing and time saved. MoviePro also has a simple movie editing feature that I used to crop the first part of a movie. Finally, I had a cheap third-party remote shutter control (Bluetooth). I was surprised that, by setting one option on the setup page (and of course pairing it with the bluetooth driver), the device worked appropriately. The labeling on this menu item wasnt the most intuitive, but it worked. Because my setup is somewhat non-standard, I had several questions that needed answering. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick response that I received from the developer. The quick response was greatly appreciated. I certainly havent tried all of the movie apps out there, but I have no need to try any others at this time.

Keep up the great work

Love the functionality of the camera. Lots of pro tools and high frame rate options. And the hidden camera mode is good for security. Thanks for all the updates!

Amazing

I’ve tried a lot of different video recorders and this one has become my default go to app. Why? It does one thing that I wonder why no one else has adopted - Cinematic Video Stabilization. Something so simple and yet so incredibly powerful. Try it with standard and move the phone - then try the same thing with Cinematic VS and all of a sudden the movie is usable. Add to that all the different presets and other options and you have something incredibly powerful that ‘Just Works’. Well done to Deepak, a truly awesome app. Thank you.

Well worth it!

Quite simply this app opens the door to powerful features of your device. Why stabilization isnt standard on the device is anyones guess but I have been able to capture very stable high quality video that is a marked improvement from the basic camera app. Great job folks!

Class Action Lawsuit

Apple should be ashamed of itself for allowing this developer to continue developing apps after bait and switching its customers into a special feature then taking it away at a moments notice and without any warning by removing the darkened screen mode. Please do not buy this app or support him.

Spy Mode Gone = Apples Fault, not the developer!

I am revising this review based on interaction with the developer. Apparently, Apple pulled this app from the App Store and required that Spy Mode be removed from the app. Apple- Please allow the developer to put spy mode back in! I use it to save battery and to record in darker rides at theme parks so that I dont bother other guests with the light from the screen.

Youve got to be kidding me.

Waaaaaay better than filmic pro.

iPhone

Its not working properly since last update. When I open the Project Tab, it kicks me out of the app.

Great little video app

I like this app. Its great that it allows me to film at 24fps, so I can grab shots on-the-go, and had footage that I could potentially cut into proper professionally shot documentary content. The only real issue I see that Id like changed for future updates, is that I want to be able to lock my shutter speed. Its super important to have 1/48 locked in, so that I can maintain the 180-degree shutter for a proper film-look match. The current update does auto shutter, even though my preset stays at 24fps. This is incredibly frustrating to me, and will often times auto adjust to 1/24 sec shutter - which gives a stutter-effect, and is not acceptable. The biggest problem with that is that if I need to grab a quick shot, having to go through the menu and manually adjust the shutter every time I turn on the app can easily be missed, and I wind up getting stuttering footage, which is unusable. I hope the developer fixes this soon. Other than that, I really dig the app!

LEY Z EYE PRODUCTIONS

I use this app for making my short films. Its pretty good actually. I recommend it

Lots of options

Updated review: This app does most of what I need: - Multiple bitrate settings for higher quality video - Multiple frame rates - Presets are easy to set and access - Good fluid interface - Smooth zooming - Ability to take photos during video shoot - Option to save videos directly into camera roll or into MoviePros library. Both work great and FAST. - Support for PCM audio via external microphone This is THE video app to get.
